Washington D.C. [USA], Apr. 10 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump, on Monday, labeled the suspected chemical attack in Syria's Douma as a "barbaric act", stating he will determine in a day or two's time on whether to retaliate with a military action, like he did to a similar attack back in 2017, or not.

The New York Times quoted him saying "We're talking about humanity and it can't be allowed to happen. We'll be making that decision very quickly, probably by the end of today. We cannot allow atrocities like that."

Branding the attacks, which claimed the lives of over 40 civilians, including children, as "heinous" and "atrocious", Trump hinted towards serious action by the United States for any responsible party, including Russia and Iran.

"If its Russia, if it's Syria, if it's Iran, if it's all of them together, we'll figure it out and we'll know the answers quite soon," he said. "So we're looking at that very strongly and very seriously."

On being enquired about the possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin's involvement in the attack, he said, "He may and if he does it's going to be very tough, very tough. Everybody's going to pay a price. He will, everybody will." (ANI)
