London [UK], Nov 8 (ANI): An advert for a travel magazine has been banned for featuring an "unhealthily thin" model.
The watchdogs dubbed the ad in Glamour magazine for Conde Nast Traveller as "irresponsible," the Daily Star reported.
The photo features a woman posing on the beach in green tights and shorts as her hair blows in the wind.
An investigation was launched when the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) received a single complaint in June about the advert.
Conde Nast Traveller magazine said the model was "naturally slim" and "in proportion" while there were "no protruding bones."
The ASA noted that while the model appeared to be in proportion, the angle of the image drew attention to her slimness, particularly her legs, which looked very long and thin.
After concluding that the ad made the model look unhealthily thin, the ASA banned the irresponsible ad from appearing again.
It told Conde Nast Publications "to ensure that in the future their ads were prepared responsibly". (ANI)
