New Delhi [India], Apr. 10 (ANI): The narrow lanes of Old Delhi narrate a lot of stories through the overwhelming variety of food they offer. The temptation is everywhere and almost impossible to resist. There are so many legendary food stalls serving mouthwatering delights that wandering through the lanes in search of your favourite food becomes like a journey of self-discovery.

Being the ultimate hub of savoury 'desi' delights for everyone, one really cannot blame the Congress leaders who, ahead of a fasting protest at Rajghat, made their way to Chaina Ram Sindhi Confectioners at Chandni Chowk to feast on Chhole Bhature.

Located at Fateh Puri Chowk, the sweet shop also serves a variety of snacks and is famed for its Chhole Bhature. Like snow on Himalayan peaks, the place is never short of customers (fans) all year round.

Natraj Cafe is another one of the old-timers in Chandni Chowk and is popular for Dahi Bhalle. Run by Inder Mohan, the place started in 1940 and they have only two items on the menu, dahi bhalle and aloo tikki.

Old Famous Jalebi Wala, located at the Dariba Kalan Road in Chandni Chowk, is the proud maker of the best jalebis in town. The sweets here are fried in home-made desi ghee and the shop has been around since 1884.

One of its unique traits is that the jalebis here are cooked over coal-fire and desi khandsari sugar, instead of the regular one, is used here to make the syrup.

If lassi, a curd based beverage, is your thing, you need to simply head to Giani's di Hatti. The drink is full of fresh malai (cream) and will soothe your physical and ethereal bodies, especially on a scorching summer afternoon.

Kanwarji's Daalbijiwala is also quite the attraction in Chandni Chowk. Located in the famous 'paranthe-wali gali', the confectionery store provides a variety of sweets and snacks. (ANI)
