Ashwin Ramaswami is first Indian-American Gen Z to run for a state or federal legislature in the US

His parents migrated to US from Tamil Nadu in 1990

Ramaswami is a Democrat and is running for State Senate in District 48 of Georgia

He built a career in software engineering, election security, and technology law and policy research

He completed his undergraduation from Stanford in computer science

His parents are both from IT sector

If elected, he would be the first Gen Z State Senator in Georgia with a computer science and a law degree

While growing up, he learned about epics like Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita
