Violence Breaks Out In Haldwani, 4 Killed

Violence broke out in Vanbhoolpura locality of Haldwani after the demolition of a mosque and madrasa.

Journalists who were on site also cam under the attack.

Reportedly, the mosque and madrasa were constructed illegally in Malik Ka Bagicha

The violence resulted in the death of four rioters and left over 100 police officers injured.

Internet services were suspended in Haldwani in the aftermath of the violence

Uttarakhand is put on high alert, with particular focus on Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udham Singh Nagar.

CM Pushkar Dhami is monitoring the situation, and has ordered increased vigilance in both rural and urban areas

Police is analysing video footage from the scene to identify and take action against rioters.

The situation is tense, but authorities have assured the public that things are under control
