Saree Choice:

First things first, pick the right saree. Nauvari is typically a 9-yard saree. A cotton nauvari saree would be comfortable and breathable and on the other hand a beautiful silk nauvari offers a luxurious appearance.

Pre-stitched Saree:

You could also opt for a pre stitched nauvari. These are game changers today, not having to handle meters of fabric and having it readymade instead is absolute genius.

Modern Draping:

You could also try draping in unconventional ways and add a contemporary twist. A fusion style by combining elements of the traditional Nauvari with modern draping techniques will surely give you a showstopping look.

Layering:

For a more dynamic look, dabble with Layering. Layer a sleeveless blouse or a jacket over your Nauvari saree,

With Contrasting Blouse:

You could also experiment with contrasting blouses and contemporary designs. Bollywood has become a real inspiration, so don’t be surprised to see vibrant unconventional looks this Ganesh Chaturthi.

Jewellary:

For jewellery, you could take a traditional route, going for traditional Maharashtrian jewellery, such as gold bangles, necklaces, and earrings. You can also add a bindi or a gajra (flower garland) to enhance your appearance. You can also consider wearing a nath (nose ring) for a traditional touch.

For Ethnic Touch:

You can also accentuate your waist by adding a waist belt (Kamarbandh) for an ethnic touch OR try experimenting with a metal or leather belt for a modern contemporary twist to your nauvari.

Makeup:

For your makeup, keep it natural and radiant. Dewy sun kissed skin is the way these days. Use a light foundation, a touch of blush, and a subtle lip colour. Highlight your eyes with a kohl eyeliner and a touch of mascara. For the experimentalists, dabble with some graphic liners and make heads turn.

Footwear:

Lastly, footwear can make or break your look. Choose footwear that complements your outfit and is comfortable to wear. Kolhapuris, juttis, or embellished sandals look great with a nauvari look.
