It is loacted in Tripura's South district, in a village near the international border with Bangladesh. The Butterfly EcoPark at Chottakhola, is situated near the Trishna WildLife Sanctuary. It opened in 2016 on 5.5 hectares of land and features 250 different species of butterflies. Tripura Tourism Minister said that the Sanctuary and its nearby area attract a large number of tourists. The minister described the importance of creating a tourist circuit that incorporates other attractive sites in the area. Butterflies, according to experts, are indicators of ecological balance and a healthy environment. The forest department has decided to promote butterflies as a component of Tripura's tourism development. The park features the soothing sight of butterflies in swarms moving from one side of the park to the other.
