Cyclone 'Remal', a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm on Sunday.
The National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) assessed the preparedness for Cyclone Remal in the Bay of Bengal.
The Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata will halt all cargo and container handling operations for 12 hours from Sunday evening.
Ships and aircraft have been kept at immediate notice to undertake search and rescue missions, ICG said.

The cyclone will cross between Bangladesh and the adjoining coasts in West Bengal on Sunday midnight.
