The BJP Wednesday released its second list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
Dropping at least 28 sitting MPs while including three former Chief Ministers, nine Union Ministers, two Rajya Sabha MPs and 15 women.
If the party’s first list of 195 candidates, released on March 2, was more about continuity with a large number of candidates being retained, the second list of 72 candidates signalled change and an emphasis on selection based on the winnability factor.
With the second list, the BJP has almost announced all its candidates for MP, Delhi, Tripura and Uttarakhand.

Manohar Lal Khattar: Resigned as Haryana CM and vacated his Karnal Assembly seat, Khattar has been fielded from the Karnal constituency.
Nitin Gadkari: The Union Minister has been retained from Maharashtra's Nagpur.
Piyush Goyal: The Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, wil be contesting from Mumbai North seat.
Rajnath Singh: Defence minister to contest from Lucknow.
Smriti Irani: The Union Minister is all set to fight from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.
Bansuri Swaraj: The party has fielded former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj's daughter from New Delhi seat.
Jyotiraditya Scindia: The Civil Aviation Minister to fight Lok Sabha polls from MP's Guna.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan: Former Madhya Pradesh CM to contest from the Vidhisha seat.
Anurag Thakur: The Information and Broadcasting Minister will again be contesting from the Himachal's Hamirpur constituency.
Basavaraj Bommai: Former Karnataka Chief Minister will contest from Haveri.
Pralhad Joshi: The Parliamentary Affairs Minister has been fielded again from Karnataka's Dharwad.
