Parties That Have Snapped Ties With BJP

After days of back-and-forth, AIADMK announced that it would not continue its alliance with BJP in Tamil Nadu.

The then united Shiv Sena terminated its 30-year alliance with BJP in 2019 after the Maharashtra Assembly polls.

The alliance broke after differences between the parties over a 50-50 formula of rotational Chief Minister.

The Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party snapped its ties with BJP in March 2018 ahead of the Assembly election in Andhra.

JD(U) quit the NDA ahead of the 2014 LS polls after Narendra Modi was made BJP's campaign committee chairman.

The Nitish Kumar-led party snapped ties with BJP for the second time on August 9, 2022.

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) also severed ties with BJP over the now repealed farm laws on September 26, 2020.

RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha cut ties with the BJP in 2018 accusing PM Modi of 'betraying' backward classes.

BJP broke its alliance with Jammu and Kashmir’s People's Democratic Party (PDP) on June 18, 2018.
