NO Caste Census; Modi Govt submits Affidavit in Supreme Court

The central government has made it clear that it will not get the OBC castes counted in the census. In an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, the Center has said that such a census is not practical. The Center has filed this affidavit in response to a petition by the Maharashtra government. The Center has pointed out that the Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC) which was done in 2011 cannot be called OBC count.
