Bahujan Samaj Party MLA and mafia don Mukhtar Ansari is now lodged in the Banda jail but he remains under the scanner of the Yogi Adityanath government round-the-clock. Ansari represents the Mau constituency in the UP assembly. He has been in jail since October 2005 but has been taking part in the legislative proceedings with the permission of the court.
