Mahakumbh 2025: Massive Crowd in Varanasi on Mauni Amavasya; Aarti Organizers Urge Online Darshan

ABP News Bureau   |  31 Jan 2025 10:07 AM (IST)

The ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj has drawn an astounding 30 crore devotees, with over 2.6 crore taking a holy dip at the Sangam in the first 18 days. This grand religious gathering attracts pilgrims from all over India and abroad, reflecting immense faith and devotion. However, the massive turnout has led to traffic congestion due to road diversions implemented to manage the crowd. These diversions have caused significant inconvenience to locals and visitors, with long detours and delays. While necessary for safety and crowd control, the traffic issues have sparked complaints. Despite these challenges, the Mahakumbh remains a powerful symbol of unity, and authorities are focused on improving the situation to ensure a smooth experience for all participants. Meanwhile on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, a significant number of pilgrims were seen at Cantt, Varanasi City, Kashi, Shivpur, and Sarnath stations. Many devotees also gathered to witness the Ganga Aarti. The organizers of the Aarti had to appeal to the public, urging them to opt for online darshan due to the overwhelming number of people present.
