Weather Updates: Heavy Rain Causes Devastation, Landslides and Cloudbursts Trigger Flooding

ABP News Bureau   |  03 Aug 2024 12:37 PM (IST)

Himachal Pradesh, a state known for its picturesque landscapes and serene environment, is currently grappling with a severe natural disaster. The region has been hit by unprecedented heavy rainfall, leading to widespread devastation, including landslides, flash floods, and infrastructural damage. The situation has resulted in significant loss of life, displacement of residents, and severe disruption to daily life. The heavy rains have also triggered flash floods in multiple regions. Rivers and streams, swollen beyond their capacity, have overflowed their banks, inundating nearby areas. Towns such as Mandi, Kullu, and Manali have experienced severe flooding, with water entering homes, shops, and public buildings. The rapid rise in water levels has caught many residents off guard, leading to emergency evacuations.
