India and Germany's strategic relationship has strengthened at a time when the world faces tension, conflict, and uncertainty. The India-Germany partnership is not merely transactional; it represents a transformative alliance between two strong democracies. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday (October 25) to discuss various issues that would further boost the friendship between India and Germany. Sharing pictures from the meeting on the social media platform X, PM Modi expressed his happiness in welcoming his friend, Chancellor Scholz, to his residence in New Delhi. He stated, "I am pleased to have met with him and discussed various issues that will enhance the India-Germany friendship." Modi emphasized that the developmental cooperation between their nations has a strong track record, and they are ready to advance it further in the coming times. He also remarked that "problems cannot be solved through war." Chancellor Scholz arrived in India on Thursday (October 24) for a three-day official visit, where he was welcomed by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai. During the "Asia Pacific Conference of German Business," PM Modi highlighted that this is the right time to be part of India's growth story, mentioning the record investments in infrastructure like roads and ports. He added, "Today, India stands on strong pillars of democracy, demographics, demand, and data, becoming a hub for global trade and manufacturing." In his remarks, Scholz noted, "The world in the 21st century requires us to work together for progress. If Russia succeeds in its war against Ukraine, the repercussions will extend beyond European borders, putting global security at risk." He acknowledged that Indian students represent the largest group of foreign students in their universities, which he welcomed as talent for the German labor market. He also mentioned that Germany is digitizing its visa process, and work has already begun on this initiative.
