Red Fort Blast: Panic Theory Strengthens, Umar’s DNA Test Underway; Doctor Module’s Network Widens

ABP News Bureau   |  12 Nov 2025 12:40 PM (IST)

The Red Fort car blast case has entered a crucial phase as investigators now believe the explosion was not a suicide attack but triggered in panic by Dr. Umar. According to sources, moments before the blast, the Jammu and Kashmir Police posted a message on social media saying, "You can run, but you can’t hide." The timing of this post at 6:10 PM on November 10 and the subsequent blast at 6:52 PM near Red Fort are being seen as possibly connected. Investigators suspect Umar, overwhelmed by fear and pressure, may have panicked and accidentally set off the explosive while attempting to move or plant it. Ground reports suggest the Hyundai i20, seen leaving the Red Fort parking around 6:22 PM, exploded minutes later near a traffic light. Forensic experts are analyzing whether the blast occurred due to a timer malfunction or mishandling of ammonium-nitrate-based explosives. Out of the 12 fatalities, eight bodies have been identified and handed over to families, while DNA analysis continues for four others, including one believed to be Umar. Meanwhile, the arrest of another suspect, Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, from Faridabad’s Alfalah Hospital, and raids across Jammu and Kashmir link the case to a broader radicalization network allegedly influenced by extremist clerics.
