Rajnath Singh To Hold Key Security Meet After Pakistan Attacks; Army May Escalate Retaliation

ABP News Bureau   |  09 May 2025 11:14 AM (IST)

Following Pakistan's provocative drone and missile attacks in Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan, and even towards Gujarat’s Bhuj region, the Indian government has accelerated its high-level military and strategic deliberations. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to chair a crucial meeting between 9:30–10:00 AM with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), the heads of the three armed forces, and the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO). This meeting will assess recent military developments and plan the next phase of India’s response, including safeguarding civilians in border villages and evaluating the success of Operation Sindoor.Sources indicate that the Indian military has thus far shown significant restraint, targeting only terrorist infrastructure without harming Pakistani civilians or military installations. However, the recent escalation by Pakistan is being viewed as a breaking point, and India’s retaliation may intensify if provocations continue. Brigadier Dahiya, speaking to ABP News, emphasized that Pakistan is now in a desperate "do or die" position, while India holds the strategic upper hand with international support and precision defense responses. The Indian government remains firm on two priorities: strong retaliation against terror infrastructure and unwavering protection of Indian civilians.
