Pahalgam Attack: If Congress Agreed in the Meeting, Why Question the Government Now?

ABP News Bureau   |  30 Apr 2025 12:20 PM (IST)

Following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian government held a high-level meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence, where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, CDS, and the chiefs of all three armed forces were present. Sources reveal that all parties, including the opposition, were in agreement about giving the army a free hand to retaliate. Prime Minister Modi emphasized that India’s resolve against terrorism is firm, and the forces have full freedom to choose the mode, target, and timing of their response. However, despite the consensus, the Congress party is now raising questions about the government’s handling of the situation. This has triggered criticism, with many asking why Congress is backtracking after showing support during the crucial meeting. Meanwhile, Pakistan's leadership appears increasingly rattled by India’s firm stance.
