Mumbai Flooded: System Exposed Again, Flights Affected – Weather Update

ABP News Bureau   |  21 Jul 2024 06:13 PM (IST)

ABP News: Intermittent moderate to heavy rains in Mumbai since morning have caused severe disruptions, exposing the city's inadequate drainage system once again. Public transport services and traffic have slowed down considerably, impacting daily commuters. Many parts of the country's financial capital received heavy rainfall, leading to extensive waterlogging, particularly in low-lying areas like Sion. The waterlogged streets forced the administration to divert traffic to manage the congestion and ensure safety. The persistent rains have also affected flight operations, causing delays and cancellations at Mumbai airport. This situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Mumbai's infrastructure in handling heavy rainfall, raising concerns about the city's preparedness for monsoon seasons.
