Multiple Air India flights cancelled due to operational and maintenance issues across key routes

Several Air India flights were cancelled on Thursday due to operational constraints and extended maintenance requirements, affecting hundreds of passengers across domestic and international routes. Key flight cancellations include AI906 from Dubai to Chennai, AI2204 from Dubai to Hyderabad, and AI874 from Pune to Delhi.On the international front, Air India also cancelled AI308 from Delhi to Melbourne and the return flight AI309 from Melbourne to Delhi, leaving many overseas travellers stranded. Additionally, AI456 from Ahmedabad to Delhi and AI2872 from Hyderabad to Mumbai were also pulled from schedule, along with a Chennai-Mumbai service.The airline cited technical upkeep and expanded maintenance as primary reasons for the cancellations. However, the move has caused significant inconvenience to passengers, especially during the peak travel period. Affected travellers are now seeking rebookings and refunds amid limited alternative options.Air India has issued a statement advising passengers to check flight statuses before heading to the airport and assured that efforts are being made to minimize disruptions.
