Maharashtra: Train Catches Fire In Nanded, Reason Remains Unclear | ABP News

ABP News Bureau   |  06 Oct 2025 02:16 PM (IST)

In Nanded, Maharashtra, a train bogie’s wheel caught fire, generating smoke that prompted passengers to flee until railway staff arrived and extinguished the blaze; no injuries were reported. Heavy monsoon rains have worsened conditions in several states, with images showing submerged underpasses, flooded roads and vehicles stranded in deep water, complicating rescue and relief operations. In one locality, tensions rose after notices led to disputed removal actions around a mosque, with residents and authorities clashing over demolition of contested portions. In Uttar Pradesh’s Mughal Sarai, a parked car suddenly burst into flames outside a house; locals and emergency responders struggled to douse the inferno but the vehicle was gutted and investigators are probing the cause. In Andhra Pradesh, a motorcyclist reportedly riding under the influence drove on the wrong side, collided with a car and was flung onto its roof; the rider was injured and police have registered a case. Railway officials, police and local administrations are coordinating responses, investigating the incidents and urging commuters and residents to exercise caution as adverse weather and isolated safety lapses continue to pose risks. Authorities have appealed for public cooperation and vigilance urgently.
