Mahadangal: Yogita Bhayana to File FIR Against Aniruddhacharya Over POCSO Violation | ABP NEWS

ABP News Bureau   |  08 Sep 2025 10:56 AM (IST)

In a fiery television debate, voices across the spectrum condemned controversial spiritual orator Aniruddhacharya for his misogynistic and legally questionable statements. Among the most alarming: his suggestion that girls should be married off at 16, and derogatory remarks implying women are responsible for societal degradation based on their appearance or life choices. Activist Yogita Bhayana highlighted the POCSO Act, noting that marrying a girl under 18 is not just outdated—it’s illegal and constitutes statutory rape. She announced her intent to file an FIR, citing that Aniruddhacharya, as a mass influencer, could incite sexual violence through such statements. The debate spiraled further when another panelist, Guru Arun Krishna, allegedly threatened participants and was removed from the studio after heated arguments and disrespectful behavior. Anchor Chitra Tripathi condemned the threats and reaffirmed the studio’s zero tolerance toward misogyny and intimidation. Panelists, including Priyanka Rana, stressed how these regressive ideologies push India 100 steps back, undermining years of work done for women’s empowerment. The nation watches as pressure builds for legal and societal accountability.
