KANGANA RANAUT BREAKING: Chirag Paswan Calls ‘Gutter Generation’ Remark Wrong, Fresh Row With Baba Ramdev

Kangana Ranaut’s controversial remarks about Gen Z have triggered another political reaction, with Union Minister and her friend Chirag Paswan publicly saying that calling an entire generation “gutter” was not appropriate. In an exclusive conversation with ABP News Political Editor Megha Prasad, Paswan said that while different people in every organisation may make controversial statements, such remarks should not be generalised to an entire generation. Paswan explained that he does not support divisive or inappropriate language, even when it comes from people within his own political ecosystem. He said accountability exists within political parties and leaders are often corrected when they cross a line. However, he stressed that his confidence remains in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government’s leadership. Discussing Ranaut’s remarks specifically, Paswan said he understood that she was referring to protesters who had allegedly used abusive language, but argued that the statement became problematic when it appeared to target an entire generation. According to him, Gen Z includes many young Indians doing positive work for the country and should not be collectively labelled because of the actions of a particular group. The controversy has also expanded into a separate confrontation between Ranaut and Baba Ramdev. After Ramdev criticised Ranaut’s comments and questioned aspects of her past, Ranaut responded through Instagram, strongly defending her character and referring to the Supreme Court’s action in the Patanjali misleading-advertising matter. The latest developments have placed Ranaut’s comments under renewed political and public scrutiny, with Paswan’s remarks adding to the growing debate over political speech, Gen Z and the responsibility of public figures when making statements about young people.
