IndiGo Crisis: Delhi Airport Issues Advisory, Urges Passengers to Check Flight Status

ABP News Bureau   |  06 Dec 2025 02:10 PM (IST)

A major update has emerged regarding the ongoing IndiGo crisis, as Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport issued an advisory urging passengers to check their flight status before leaving home. The statement mentions that IndiGo’s services are slowly returning to normal and the situation is expected to stabilise soon, offering some relief to travellers. The crisis began after DGCA implemented revised FTDL norms to reduce pilot fatigue, increasing weekly rest from 36 to 48 hours and limiting daily flying hours. These rules were introduced in phases, but IndiGo reportedly failed to adjust its planning in time, resulting in massive cancellations nationwide. Thousands of passengers across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Patna, Bhopal, Chennai, Goa and other cities continue to face delays, last-minute cancellations, and lack of proper communication. With other airlines increasing fares, many travellers remain stranded or forced to cancel important plans. Authorities expect conditions to improve between December 10 and 15.
