Has Shiv Sena been attempting to change party's image?

Ahead of the Karnataka Lok Sabha by-polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and minister KS Eshwarappa has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. He declared that BJP would not give tickets to any Muslim leader.
Owaisi raised questions on such a statement and called it disgusting.
On the other hand, Shiv Sena has been supporting Muslims in Maharashtra and the party will soon be organising an Azaan competition. BJP attacked the party for it.
