Flood Fury In Bihar And Nepal: Eastern Champaran Submerged As Rivers Overflow

ABP News Bureau   |  07 Oct 2025 10:35 AM (IST)

Severe floods have wreaked havoc in Eastern Champaran, Bihar, and parts of Nepal after continuous rainfall caused rivers to overflow and submerge vast areas. In the Bankatwa block of Eastern Champaran, floodwaters have entered more than two dozen houses, forcing residents to evacuate to safer locations. The situation has turned dire as water continues to rise, inundating homes, shops, and agricultural fields. Locals report that wherever one looks, there is nothing but water. The overflowing rivers have damaged roads and disrupted transportation and communication networks in several low-lying regions. Relief teams are being mobilized to provide food, shelter, and medical assistance to affected families. Meanwhile, authorities are closely monitoring water levels and have issued warnings for nearby villages. The administration has urged people living along the riverbanks to move to higher ground immediately. With the monsoon rains showing no signs of stopping, the fear of worsening floods looms large over the region.
