EC eases poll campaigning restrictions, issues new guidelines

View In AppThe ban on political rallies, campaigns, and roadshows in India has been extended till January 31 by the Election Commission of India (EC). Relaxations on physical party meetings for Phase 1 and Phase 2 will take effect on January 28 and February 1, respectively, according to the electoral commission. The five-person limit for door-to-door campaigns has been increased to ten. On Saturday, January 22nd, the EC conducted a review meeting on the ongoing COVID-19 situation in five poll-bound states.
