Early Thursday morning, a cloudburst occurred near a hydro project in Rampur Jhakri, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The District Disaster Management Authority has confirmed the incident. Following the cloudburst, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap and Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi have headed to the site. Kashyap reported that teams from the DSRF, police, and rescue units were promptly dispatched. He also mentioned that 19 people are missing from the affected area. The incident has created significant panic among local residents. In response, the district administration has advised people to stay alert due to the forecast of heavy rainfall. The situation remains under close monitoring as rescue operations continue.
