Local residents gathered as the open stone-pelting escalated, and a video of the incident went viral. The police station in the Kila area has registered an FIR against those involved in the stone-throwing. Three people involved in the disturbance have been detained by the police. The altercation took place near a cremation ground in Bakarganj between Shanu and Saurabh, who were close friends. However, under the influence of alcohol, a disagreement arose, which escalated to the point where both started throwing stones at each other. As more people from both sides arrived, the situation worsened, leading to large-scale stone-pelting from both sides. At a nearby intersection, a large crowd could be seen hurling bricks and stones at one another. The video of the incident quickly spread on social media, showing around 20-25 people involved, though it's unclear which side they were from. Upon receiving the report, Kila Inspector Harendra Singh stated that Shanu had been taken into custody and was being questioned, while Saurabh had fled. Police teams have been formed to locate him. However, women from the Hindu side of the conflict arrived at the police station in protest, claiming Saurabh was innocent and questioning why the police were searching for him. The police responded that if he was innocent, there was no need for him to hide. Based on the video, Kila police have started identifying the suspects. Late into the night, three people, including Shanu, were taken into custody for questioning. The police are also preparing to apprehend others seen throwing stones in the video. As soon as the incident came to light, SP City Manush Parik arrived at the scene, inspected the area, and deployed police officers for security. He later visited the police station to interrogate those in custody. Parik assured that the remaining individuals involved would be arrested soon. An FIR is being registered at the Kila police station.
