Canada PM's remark over farmers' protest is unnecessary: India

On the occasion of Gurpurab on Monday, Trudeau said: "The situation is very concerning. All of us are worried about family and friends, and this is a reality for many. Let me remind you. Canada will always defend the rights of peaceful protesters. We have intimated our concerns to the Indian authorities."

Farmers in India are protesting at several places at the Delhi-Haryana and Delhi-Uttar Pradesh borders over the three farm laws passed by the Parliament in September this year. The farmers have been demanding the new laws be repealed.
