Budget 2022: Major challenges for FM Nirmala Sitharaman

If the previous Budget focused on rebuilding India's economy following the recession of 2020-21, the one coming up in 2022-23 would focus on restoring the country's health to pre-pandemic levels. Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister, has similar difficulties. In the years 2021-2022 (FY22), the economy began to recover. Corporate earnings, on the other hand, have been strong, and the Centre's direct and indirect tax revenue will comfortably exceed the budgeted levels.
