Breaking: Section 144 in force, PTI Workers Will Protest at Adiala Jail

ABP News Bureau   |  02 Dec 2025 02:52 PM (IST)

The breaking news reports focus on the rumors surrounding Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan. These rumors intensified as his family members and party workers had been continuously questioning the Adiala Jail authorities for the past 27 days. Although the higher court had permitted his family members to meet him, the jail authorities did not comply with the court’s orders. In response, they issued a statement claiming that Imran Khan is completely fine, alive, and in good health, and that authorities would soon allow a meeting. However, no photo or video clip of Imran Khan has been released so far. Amid growing concern, his party leaders and sisters decided to organise a protest in front of Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. According to reports, authorities have imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi, and strict measures have been taken by district and jail authorities to barricade the routes leading to the prison. In a separate development, Pakistan is reportedly moving towards dictatorship through the 27th Amendment. Army Chief Asim Munir is pressurising Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to sign the bill, which aims to strengthen the position of the Army Chief while weakening the authority of the Prime Minister. Under this amendment, Asim Munir would also assume the role of Chief of Defence Forces, gaining control over decisions related to nuclear power and diminishing the powers of crucial institutions such as the Supreme Court.
