Breaking News: 11 Years of Modi Government, Major Push for Affordable Healthcare | ABP NEWS
As the Modi government completes 11 years at the Centre, a key focus has been on providing affordable healthcare to the masses. Schemes like Ayushman Bharat have enabled millions to access free treatment. For example, Sarwar Raza from Muzaffarnagar underwent a life-saving angioplasty in Delhi without spending a single rupee, thanks to his Ayushman card, which covered costs that would have otherwise exceeded ₹1.5 lakh. In addition, the government’s Jan Aushadhi Kendras are making essential medicines available at heavily discounted prices. Trilokinath Kesari in Patna shared how medicines that once cost ₹220 are now available for just ₹70. Over 55 crore people have benefited from Ayushman Bharat. More than 16,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras offer medicines at 50–90% less than market rates. Initiatives like Mission Indradhanush have vaccinated over 7 crore women and children, and during the COVID-19 crisis, 220 crore vaccine doses were administered. Today, India boasts 23 AIIMS and over 2,000 medical colleges—proof of a healthcare system being rapidly transformed.
