Breaking: Jaishankar's Controversial 'Warning' to Pakistan Sparks National Security Concerns

ABP News Bureau   |  19 May 2025 01:04 PM (IST)

The recent statements by India’s Foreign Minister, S. Jaishankar, have raised significant concerns regarding the country’s diplomatic approach during Operation Sindoor. Jaishankar revealed that Pakistan was informed ahead of time about India’s intention to strike only terrorist hideouts, not military installations. While this approach was likely intended to avoid unnecessary escalation, questions have surfaced about its effectiveness and the level of trust placed in Pakistan's response. Critics, including opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi, have expressed concern over this "warning" to Pakistan, suggesting that it may have allowed terrorists like Azhar Masood and Hafiz Saeed to escape. These individuals, both notorious figures linked to terrorism, have long been a threat to India’s national security. The idea that India gave them a heads-up, through diplomatic channels, before taking action is being heavily questioned. In this context, some critics have even labeled Jaishankar's actions as "mukbiri" (betrayal) rather than diplomacy, raising doubts about the long-term impact on India's security. The concern stems from the notion that such actions might have inadvertently allowed key terrorists to evade justice. This situation has left many wondering whether this strategy truly served India’s best interests or compromised its national security.
