Breaking: Home Minister Amit Shah Chairs High-Level Meet on Red Fort Blast Investigation

ABP News Bureau   |  11 Nov 2025 01:08 PM (IST)

A high-level security meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah began this morning at 11 a.m. to review the ongoing investigation into the Red Fort car blast that shook Delhi late last night. Top officials including the Delhi Police Commissioner, NIA DG, IB Director, and Home Secretary were present, while the Jammu & Kashmir DGP joined via video conferencing. The meeting aims to determine whether the explosion was an accident or a planned terror attack. According to reports, the Home Minister has been briefed on the initial findings, which include forensic evidence, CCTV footage, and the interrogation of suspects linked to the Faridabad module. Investigations have revealed the recovery of around 300 kilograms of ammonium nitrate and the possible involvement of several doctors, including Dr. Umar, who allegedly drove the i20 car that exploded. The meeting also assessed security preparedness in other major Indian cities following the Delhi blast. Sources suggest that the NIA may take over the probe, as preliminary clues hint at connections extending from Delhi to Faridabad, Saharanpur, and Jammu & Kashmir. An official government statement is expected soon.
