Breaking: Heavy Rains Devastate Rajasthan, MP, AP; Villagers Demand Relief Amid Dam Crisis

ABP News Bureau   |  31 Jul 2025 01:00 PM (IST)

As the month turns, the monsoon fury continues to batter several states across India. In Rajasthan, relentless rainfall has submerged towns, converted roads into rivers, and left entire villages waterlogged. SDRF and civil defense teams are working round the clock, using JCBs and tractors for rescue operations in Vanasthali and Dattwas areas. Schools have turned into shelters, and even marketplaces are under knee-deep water. In Madhya Pradesh’s Morena, the Chambal River has crossed the danger mark of 138 meters, rising above 142 meters. Authorities have issued a flood alert, especially in low-lying villages near Rajghat. The rapidly rising water has sparked panic among locals.Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada, continuous rains have forced the opening of all gates of the Prakasam Barrage. The Krishna River is in full spate, threatening communities nearby. Authorities are urging residents to remain cautious and relocate to safer zones.Adding to the crisis, villagers in Himachal Pradesh's Karsog subdivision allege they’ve been abandoned by the administration after giving their land for a hydro project. They blame Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) for man-made disasters and vow indefinite protests if compensation and infrastructure are not provided.
