Breaking: Continuous Rescue Efforts Underway In Dharali Amid Ongoing Search For Missing Locals

ABP News Bureau   |  09 Aug 2025 01:22 PM (IST)

In Uttarkashi’s Dharali region, relentless rescue operations are underway as teams continue searching for missing locals after the devastating disaster struck on August 5. The Army, using advanced equipment, is working to locate survivors trapped under debris. Many rescued individuals consider themselves fortunate to be alive, recounting how sudden pressure and flooding left them with no chance to react. Helicopter sounds bring hope to families still waiting for loved ones, their eyes fixed on the skies. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the disaster-hit areas, meeting victims, offering condolences, and boosting morale. ABP News reporters braved treacherous mountain paths, washed-out roads, and dangerous slopes to reach Dharali, highlighting the severity of the damage. The Gangnani bridge remains broken, forcing residents and rescuers to take perilous routes, often risking falling into the raging Bhagirathi River. Around 500 meters of road have been completely washed away, leaving only narrow rocky passages for escape. Families stranded for days have started walking out on foot, determined to reach safety despite exhaustion and fear. The tragedy has left Dharali in deep distress, but the resilience and determination of its people, along with tireless rescue teams, continue to fuel hope for those still missing.
