Ahmedabad Air India Plane Crash: PM Modi Chairs Emergency Review Meet at Ahmedabad Airport After Deadly Plane Crash
Following his visit to the crash site and interactions with the injured at Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level review meeting at the Ahmedabad airport. Present in the meeting were Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister CR Patil, senior officials from Air India, the Civil Aviation Ministry, Gujarat's Chief Secretary, and top doctors and rescue personnel involved in post-crash efforts. The review aimed to assess relief operations, ensure top-quality medical treatment for the injured, and expedite the process of identifying and handing over the bodies to families. Over 40 injured victims remain hospitalized, many of whom were young doctors and interns who were in the hostel mess during the crash. Four identified bodies have already been handed over to families. PM Modi reviewed forensic developments as well, with teams on-site analyzing injury patterns and debris to determine the cause and severity of the impact. The Prime Minister also met the lone survivor, Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, who miraculously escaped from the burning wreckage. Modi emphasized that every effort must be made to support the injured, their families, and to find out how such a tragic incident occurred, ensuring full transparency and accountability.
