Farm laws repeal & upcoming assembly elections 2022; Is there a connection?

The  central government has announced the withdrawal of all three agricultural laws. Now farmers have started demanding MSP guarantee. At the same time, leaders of other parties have also started surrounding the government regarding MSP. Is there a connection between farm laws repeal and upcoming assembly elections.
