Ajay Rai is an Indian politician and a member of the Indian National Congress since 2012. He is a five-time MLA from Uttar Pradesh. He was the nominee of the Congress party for the Varanasi parliament seat in the 2014 general elections, but lost the elections. Rai is confident that Priyanka's road show will prove to be a game changer for him.
"There is so much enthusiasm in the people for the Congress. I can see that changing situation," he told IANS amidst campaigning.
Rai, who had polled 75,614 votes against 5,81,022 votes polled by Modi in the 2014 elections, claims that he is better positioned this time than he was last time.
