UTI In Summers: Why are Urinary Infections Common in Summer? | Health Live

ABP News Bureau   |  27 Jun 2024 04:23 PM (IST)

In summers, increased sweating can lead to dehydration, causing people to pass urine less frequently. This reduced frequency allows bacteria to thrive and multiply in the urinary tract, leading to urinary infections. Dehydration concentrates urine, making it more acidic and providing an ideal environment for bacteria to proliferate.

To prevent urinary infections in summer, it's crucial to stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Adequate hydration helps flush out bacteria from the urinary tract and maintains a healthy balance of fluids in the body. Additionally, practicing good hygiene, such as wearing breathable clothing and promptly changing out of wet swimwear, can also reduce the risk of UTIs. Awareness of these factors and proactive hydration are key to minimizing the occurrence of urinary infections during the warmer months.
