Primer Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Delhi Meerut Expressway on Sunday morning at 10: 15 AM in Delhi's Nizamuddin area by taking out a spectacular road show on the newly formed expressway.
Delhi North Capital Region is getting twin gifts in terms of road transport facility, in the form of Delhi-Meerut Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway , which PM will inaugurate later in the day.
The expressway will significantly reduce the distance between Delhi and Meerut and will also bring a respite to Delhi's commuters. It will help to reduce the traffic load on the common road and will also reduce the pollution. People will get relief from long hours of traffic jams in the summer heat.
The Traffic for Meerut and Ghaziabad will be diverted along the expressway , making the direct commuting relatively easier and faster.
The total length of the 14 lane expressway will be around 82 kilometers, out of which almost 9 Km long stretch has been constructed in the first phase. It will considerably reduce the time taken for reaching Meerut.
PM Modi along with Road Transport & Highway minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the expressway. amid a cheering crowd of BJP workers and local people.
After the inauguration Prime Minister Modi will head to Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat for the inauguration of the long-pending Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
