Yo Yo Honey Singh Famous Documentary Review: An Open Book for Fans | ABP LIVE

ABP News Bureau   |  22 Dec 2024 10:22 AM (IST)

After years of speculation, rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh finally addressed the long-running story of how Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan hit him while on tour in the United States, causing him to supposedly need stitches. The two have worked together on the song, 'Lungi Dance'. The rapper set the record straight and gave his side of the story in his latest documentary, ‘Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous’. According to Honey Singh, Shah Rukh Khan has always been courteous to him, thus he was disappointed by the rumour. He shared in the documentary, “Now, nine years later, let me tell you what really happened. Nobody knows what I’m going to tell you on camera now."  Reflecting on the incident, Honey said, “Someone started the rumour that Shah Rukh Khan slapped me. That man loves me, he’ll never raise his hand on me.” The event occurred at a difficult period in Singh's life, as he was overworked and weary while travelling with SRK. The rapper stated that the event happened during a tour in Chicago when he was dealing with mental health concerns and refused to perform. He shared, "I was convinced I'd die on stage, so I refused to perform. My managers tried to persuade me, but I shaved my head to avoid going on. They suggested I wear a cap, but I picked it up and smashed it on my head, injuring myself." Now available on Netflix, ‘Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous’ delves at the rapper's difficulties with mental health, drug addiction and his attempts to recover. The documentary provides an insightful look at the ups and downs of Honey Singh's life and career, and it was directed by Mozez Singh.
