Deorala: Village cursed after Roop Kanwar's sati 31 years ago?

Roop Kanwar was 18 years old when her husband, Maal Singh, died in September 1987. Deorala residents immediately after the wedding burnt her on husband's pyre. She may have preferred to live with her family in Jaipur because her husband was suffering from depression and was taking treatment for the same.
