Chhattisgarh: 4 BSF jawans killed in encounter with Naxals

Four Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were killed in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh on Thursday. Two other personnel were injured in the encounter, which took place in Kanker district. The troopers were deployed in Pakhanjur, Kanker, area when they came under attack from the Maoists with improvised explosive devices (IEDs), triggering an exchange of fire, a BSF statement said.
"Maoists also suffered casualties," the statement said, adding that the area had been cordoned off. The injured BSF troopers were evacuated to a hospital.
