ABP News Bureau   |  20 Mar 2019 08:03 PM (IST)

BSP supremo Mayawati on Wednesday asked her supporters not to get disheartened over her decision of not contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as she kept open the option of fighting a parliamentary bypoll later. Mayawati said she was not a member of either Uttar Pradesh Assembly or Council when she became chief minister for the first time in 1995.

She said a person who is holding the post of prime minister or minister gets six months to be a member of the Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha.
