Kerala Firm 'Popees' Turns Santa For Newborns During COVID-19

In a unique initiative, Popees baby care, a Malappuram-based baby clothes manufacturer, touched the lives of thousands of infants by supplying by about 50,000 newborn dresses to government hospitals across Kerala. The firm offered help after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had pointed out that the parents of newborns are struggling to get baby clothes due to the COVID-19 lockdown. "When the chief minister in a press conference expressed concerns over non-availability of newborns' dresses in Kerala due to the lockdown, Popees took it as a responsibility and supplied 50,000 pieces of newborn-dresses across all the government hospitals in Kerala. All free of cost." Shaju Thomas, chairman and managing director (CMD) of Popees. The firm also supplied around 13 lakh masks to hospitals and in Malappuram.
