The Indian Army's preemptive action at the south of Pangong-Tso Lake in August not only gave India a strategic edge over China but also the opportunity to control the Kailash mountain range for the first time after the '62 war. Kailash Mansarovar's Kailash Range is one of the largest and sacred pilgrimage sites in India. Not many know that the closest route to Lake Kailash Mansarovar from India is through Ladakh.
