A top Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist commander Shamim Sofi aka Sham Sofi was gunned down in an encounter at Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir. The gunfight between the security forces and terrorists happened in the Tral area of Awantipora. Sofi's killing has been described as a big achievement for security forces.
