A video shared by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has gone viral on the internet in which one can see a woman travelling with her pet dog with the Indian Railways. The video was initially shared on Instagram and later posted on other social media platforms where it caught the attention of the Railway Minister.


The video shared on the microblogging site Twitter by Vaishnaw opens to show a woman sleeping on the lower berth of a train compartment. After a few seconds the camera zooms in and a person taps on the woman 's shoulder who then removes the blanket to show a glimpse of her pet enjoying the train journey.

Indian Railways permits pets to travel with passengers in AC first class and first-class compartments only, provided that the whole coupe is booked by the passenger.


Since being shared, the video has amassed 1.4 million views, over 20,000 likes and several coments.


"Moved heaven and earth to get this journey done. But it was satisfying to take our pet with our travel. There is a HOPE. Kudos to #IndianRailways", wrote one user.






While another user wrote, "Cute. Hope they clean this blanket at the least after this trip".






"Is it just an advertisement or really we can. If yes pl clarify how. In which class", wrote a third.






"Pets are allowed only in AC-I if all 2 (coupe) or 4 (cabin) seats are yours so that no inconvenience is caused to other passengers. Also vaccination and fitness certificates are checked prior to booking of pet", wrote a fourth.
